In life we are forced to process an absurd amount of information. We see things hundreds or even thousands of times and yet we remain oblivious to so much beauty. The minds ability to file images and then recall them is utilized in The Memory Game you probably played as a kid. People are constantly trying to match past events up with the present in the same way one would match the cards. In this series I chose to compile the images we see around us in nature that are overlooked in order to find the beauty in life’s visual routine. I tinted my photographs to emphasize the beauty of nature, and the flashes of colors we see throughout our day. Using a layering technique with InkAid transfers I layered different organic forms together in a composition. I’ve transformed such images to draw attention to what is so frequently overlooked by creating a seemingly more complex, compound image of things in nature people see everyday. These works require the viewer to closely look at images that are disregarded in our day by creating a new, layered together image as a celebration of our filed away memories.
